GOVERNOR PAWLENTY LAUNCHES CIVICFEST WALLEYE SCHOOL OF FISH COMPETITION -- May 9, 2008 |

| Governor Tim Pawlenty, along with the Minneapolis Saint Paul 2008 Host Committee, today launched the CivicFest Walleye School of Fish Competition, a statewide artistic competition open to Minnesota students interested in designing a 4-foot birch flat-board walleye decorated with materials specific to individual U.S. states or territories. Governor Pawlenty announced plans for the competition on his weekly radio show "Good Morning, Minnesota," live from the Governor's Fishing Opener in Breezy Point. |

| Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced his appointments to the Governor's 21st Century Tax Reform Commission. This commission, which the Governor announced in his State of the State address in February, was created by Executive Order to advise the Governor on reforming the state's tax laws with the goal of making long-term improvements in the revenue system that reflect changes in business practices, demographics, and the economy that have occurred in Minnesota and other states. |
