| First Lady Mary Pawlenty announced today that she is joining Children's HeartLink as their Director of Medical Diplomacy. Children's HeartLink is an international medical nonprofit based in the Twin Cities that builds programs to prevent, treat and cure heart disease among needy children in developing countries. The First Lady will begin her role with Children's HeartLink on January 5, 2009. |

| Eight projects that will accelerate the development of renewable energy projects and advanced biofuels in Minnesota will receive nearly $3 million in state grants awarded by the Next Generation Energy Board. The projects include cellulosic ethanol production, an anaerobic digester technology for hog manure, and using turfgrass to produce electricity. |
