On Tuesday, Governor Pawlenty became the Chair of the Education Commission of the States.  Former Chair, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius presented Governor Pawlenty with the Chairperson's gavel.  The Education Commission of the States is an interstate compact created to improve public education by facilitating the exchange of information, ideas and experiences among state policymakers and education leaders -- July 1, 2008

GOVERNOR PAWLENTY SIGNS EMERGENCY EXECUTIVE ORDER DECLARING A STATE OF EMERGENCY IN FREEBORN AND MOWER COUNTIES -- June 12, 2008
Governor Tim Pawlenty today signed Executive Order 08-12 declaring a State of Emergency in Freeborn and Mower Counties due to flooding which resulted from recent storms. The Governor's executive order triggers a damage assessment by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to determine if these counties are eligible for federal assistance.
